What should I expect?
Initially the physiotherapist will sit down with you to listen to your story and to ask you a number of questions regarding your injury/pain, including any relevant medical history.
Following this the physiotherapist will conduct a detailed assessment of your movement patterns and strength around the injured area. From your history and the assessment findings the physiotherapist will then decide on the most effective plan to treat your specific injury.
The physiotherapist will then discuss the treatment options and then provide the appropriate treatment, this may include hands-on manual work, Dry Needling techniques, specific exercises or a combination of these. No treatment will be performed without your consent.
Treatment will commonly be followed up with exercise instruction specific for your condition that you will need to complete at home. A plan will also be discussed with you and often some follow up treatment will be required, depending on your circumstances. We encourage you to play an active role in your exercises and treatment plan.
