FAQ

  • Do I need a referral for Physiotherapy?

Not if you are a private patient. For Workers Compensation, EPC, Third Party or Veteran Affairs a referral is required from your GP or Specialist Doctor.

  • Do you accept EPC referrals?

Yes we do. Please bring your EPC referral with you on your first appointment. You will be required to pay for the appointment and we will process your medicare claim on the spot. The amount that medicare covers is then reimbursed back into your account.

  • Do you take Workers Compensation clients?

Yes we do. Please bring your Workers Compensation information with you on your initial consult. This information includes:

    • Referral from your GP.
    • Claim number.
    • Insurance company name and appropriate contact persons details.
    • Information regarding your injury (i.e. Date of injury).

Please come early to your appointment to fill out the appropriate paperwork.

  • How do I pay for treatment?

If you are privately insured we can swipe your health fund card through our Hicaps machine and you will only have to pay the gap (This varies depending on your level of cover). This can be paid via cash, cheque, eftpos or credit card.

  • What if I have to cancel?

Please give 24 hours notice. We often have a waiting list and we would appreciate time to fill the appointment. For late cancellations or no-shows a cancellation fee may be charged.

  • What should I bring/wear?

Loose comfortable clothing is best, such as shorts/T shirt/singlet/track pants.

  • What should I expect?

Initially the Physiotherapist will sit down with you to listen to your history and ask you a number of questions regarding your injury/pain, including any relevant medical history.

Following this the Physiotherapist will conduct a detailed assessment of your movement patterns and strength around the injured area. From your history and the assessment findings the physiotherapist will then decide on the most effective plan to treat your specific injury.

The Physiotherapist will then discuss the treatment options and then provide the appropriate treatment, this may include hands-on manual work, Dry Needling techniques, specific exercises or a combination of these. No treatment will be performed without your consent.

Treatment will commonly be followed up with exercise instruction specific for your condition that you will need to complete at home.  A plan will also be discussed with you and often some follow up treatment will be required, depending on your circumstances. We encourage you to play an active role in your exercises and treatment plan.

  • What type of injuries do physiotherapists treat?

    • From headaches/spinal pain
